A January Christmas

We celebrated the real Christmas day in Maine with everyone but we left most of our gifts here in Florida rather than take them all the way up North and back again. So after everything had settled down a little from our trip we picked an evening that we could have our Christmas. I first thought I would make a roasted chicken for supper to make it more like Christmas but after talking with Carlie decided we would make pizza and to make it special we made a snowman pizza just for her.

Half way through making the pizza Carlie suddenly asked, "Is my snowman still at Grammie's house?" So we stopped and called Grammie to see if the snowman was still standing. She said she thought there were maybe two of the balls still standing.

 Our Christmas dinner.

Even though it was a mild evening John started the fire to make it more festive.

Every night before reading the Bible John had been reading the Christmas cards we received that day. After we arrived home from Maine we had a lot of cards waiting for us but that was about the end of Christmas cards. Now every night when we sit down together Carlie says, "We read our Cards?" I think she just thought our friends would be sending us cards everyday from now on.

 Time for the tree!

 Handing out gifts.

Donny got to open the first gift since it is only his second Christmas.

 Snowman from Grampie and Grammie.

John got a headlamp that had a red light setting.

Donny got out the hymn books.

He loves to sing so John stopped so they could sing a duet.

Popcorn from Uncle Matt and Auntie Vicki!

Donny was thrilled. I don't think he knew what it was but he did know you could eat it and kept saying, "yummmmm!"

Ever since I got out my boots this fall Carlie has been asking if she could have some boots. I told her she should pray for some and we'd have to see if we could find some. When she started praying for some she added that they should be pink to her prayer. I mentioned to mum one day that Carlie had been praying for boots and mum had found some! Pink and everything!! I had to then tried to keep Carlie praying until Christmas. She was so excited when she opened them and kept saying, "I just pray for this!"

 Special boxes from Maine!.

Donny was so happy about everything and kept going around and giving everyone hugs.

This special doll house was given to us by Hannah and Lizzy. Carlie was so excited to open it and wanted to stay up all night to play with it. Thank you girls for giving so many happy hours of play! Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!
