After two days and two nights of driving and stopping for bits of sleep along the way we finally made it to Handsome Grandfather's and Grandma's house. We totally surprised them. We sent Carlie up to knock on the door wish them a Merry Christmas. Auntie Pam opened the door and said, "Carlie is that you? Carlie?" So we all came in after that and they were surprised. Only the girls were home though and later when Grandpa and Grandma got home we sent Carlie out again to wish them a Merry Christmas. She was so cute walking around saying Merry Christmas for a bit before they could figure out who she was. Good times and I'm so excited that it all worked out. I'm glad we could spend Christmas with Nessa's family in Maine. Sorry no pictures of the surprise for the McFarlands. I'm not too keen on taking pictures in a moment like that.
Merry Christmas everyone! We hope everyone reading this blog had a blessed Christmas and will have a happy new year. May the Lord bless us every one!

Grandpa hand carved this manger scene in amazing detail. He made the guys some Croak boards for this Christmas out of wood too. He's made all kinds things out of wood, from gun cabinets, to baby cradles, to Adirondack chairs, to porch swings. He's quite skillful at woodworking. Last year he hand made all his Christmas gifts. He made wooden whistles for the grandkids last year.
