Picking up Pecans

On Saturday, during Leah's visit, we decided to go pick up some pecans. It was a beautiful day but the picking wasn't too good at the place we went. We got about forty pounds of pecans. Now all that is left is the cracking.

Carlie and Donny wanted to eat them and kept bringing us nuts to crack for them. So we showed them how to crack them by stepping on them. Hours later after we were home I saw Donny stepping on one on the kitchen floor with his bear foot. He was frustrated because he couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.

Here's the field where we were picking up. A tracker across the road was harvesting cotton and in the field behind us they were raking hay. Donny and Carlie thought that was very fascinating.

Snack time!

A little sugar for Donny and Mommy.

The whole story of the day, Carlie puts pecans in the bucket; Donny takes them out. Donny understood something was supposed to be done with the nuts but he never knew if they were supposed to be on the grown or in the bucket.

The rule was Carlie had to fill her little blue bucket and Donny had to not spill them.

We got a few pecans but we got tired babies too and that was just as much what we were looking for.
