Early one chilly morning, the kids were outside playing and I was talking with Grandpa. Carlie asked to talk with him and went on and on walking all around and telling everything that came into her head. I don't know who enjoyed it more.
We had a stretch of rainy weather and grew a bumper crop of mushrooms in our yard. These cute little purple ones just looked like the perfect place to find a gnome.
Sunglasses on a rainy day.
One lunch last week Donny got too tired and was falling a sleep at his plate. He had never done this before and when I first looked up to see his eyes half closed and head wobbling it scared me for a second.
We got to have Leah with us for a whole week and we were all so happy she was here. Carlie was too excited to sleep the night I went to pick her up from the airport. She was still awake at 10:00 when we arrived home.
The first day she was here was Veterans Day and we went to the parade in town.
We only had one flag and since I thought it was a little safer in Carlie's hands, Donny got the pinwheel instead.
Here comes the police car.
This nice man sat beside us at the parade and said he was 92 years old and had fought in WWII and Korea. He was so excited to see the kids enjoy the parade and said that is really why he comes out to parades, just to watch the little ones enjoy it. In this picture he was retrieving candy for Donny.
It was so much fun and Leah said it had been years since she had been to a parade.
