Independence Day was over cast and rainy but we enjoyed the day out at Bear Lake with the family. The morning was slow and relaxing and the babies even got an early afternoon nap
in the camper. Carlie remembered living in the camper out at Eglin and was excited
to be back again.
Getting ready to go.
Carlie saw Grandma raking up pine straw to start the fire and she wanted to help.
Hot dogs and chips for lunch.
We had to wait out thunder showers when we were trying to
go swimming. In the afternoon.
Donny didn't understand why we were all standing
under the porch and wasting a perfectly good rain and puddles.
Carlie's first sparkler.
Later in the evening she touched the end of the sparkler
and burned her thumb and first finger pretty bad.
She is proud of her burn now and tells everyone she burned it on the fireworks.
Waiting for the fireworks to begin.
We all ate watermelon while we waited and Donny loved that.
He enjoyed the fireworks for awhile then grew tired of sitting there and wanted to get down.
Carlie was very scared at first and hid under the towel she was using to keep warm
but John showed her it was safe and fun and by the end she was calling out the colors of the different displays.
