Snakes, and Snails, and Lizard Tails.

John went out fishing and brought us home some catfish.  We cooked it up for supper and had a delicious treat.

We had a rainy spell and took advantage of a break in the rain to get out on a morning walk between rain showers.

They both love to be outside and spend hours a day playing in their sandbox.  I always sit out there with them while they play and Donny spends most of the time trying to eat the sand and oak leaves that have fallen into the box.  This week we were out there playing and I was not paying much attention to them.  Just working on knitting a pear of socks when I saw a long piece of grass hanging out of Donny's mouth. I reach out and took it out only to realize I was holding a lizard tail! Boys!

Making brownies.

Story time with Daddy

Licking the beaters from making boiled frosting.

On our anniversary John had to work so I made a special supper for us with chocolate cake and boiled frosting.

Donny enjoyed the extra cake top I cut off before frosting it.

Four years!

We took a little time for us that week end and on Sunday afternoon went to the beach.

One morning Carlie and Donny were a little sleepy and were happy just resting in the chair together. This almost never happens.

Nothing cuter than baby toes.

Donny had his nine month appointment.

He had his toe pricked and didn't like the bandage being on his toe.

Carlie came to help him take it off.  When the doctor came in to see Donny.  Carlie wanted to be examined too. She kept asking, "Carlie? Carlie?"

Friday night we went out for the evening with some of the young people from church.

We went to eat together and then went to a car race in Pensacola.  Donny and Carlie did great. We covered their ears and Carlie soon caught on to covering her own ears.

You can kind of see the cars lining up here.
(not too good, sorry)

Donny lasted until about the fiftieth round. And it was so late and he was so tired. The minute I got back to the car with him he was asleep.  Carlie hung on for the whole thing but John said she was so excited when it was over.  Riding on his shoulders back to the car she was saying, "All done! All done!" the whole way.

You can kind of make out the cars on the other side of the track.  When the cars where close to us they were so loud I would cover Donny's ears.  He soon learned they grew a little quieter as they went around the other side and would pull his head away.  Then as they turned the corner to come by us again. He would put his hand up and pull my hand over his ears. I couldn't believe he caught on to it so quickly. And to think of the many times I tell myself he doesn't understand what I want when he is doing something I have told him not to do!
