A few days before Thanksgiving Becca came over to do some baking with us.
These days together are precious to us as our time together is running short.
They have their tickets to Papua New Guinea.
The tradition of "gooey rolls" isn't as popular here as it was around the McFarland households but we make them anyway for nostalgia.
Finally out of the oven
...and ready to eat.
Becca and Paul having a little lunch
The night before Thanksgiving John took us out for supper.
It was such a fun evening and the babies were pretty good.
Which is always counted a huge blessing since we don't really use baby sitters.
Daddy ordered Carlie some broccoli ...
She really likes broccoli, though this picture doesn't show it.
I really like hats and make them for Carlie all the time and she now thinks everything is a hat.
Thanksgiving Day
Our little pilgrim waiting for breakfast.
Apple, cinnamon oatmeal! Her favorite.
And water in her special cup from supper the night before.
A ungrateful pilgrim.
Licking the beater from the chocolate delight.
Thanksgiving dinner at Uncle Jerry and Aunts Pam's
Dad Bryan and Donny.
Gavin was getting his face painted for his Indian costume and Carlie was very fascinated, " an adult writing on a child's face with a crayon...hmmm? Just when you think you've seen it all!"
Cousins, Gavin, Lily, Alyssa, with Anna on her lap.
The traditional Thanksgiving candy hunt sponsored by Dad Bryan
I know there are Far too many pictures of the Thanksgiving outfits but they make me laugh. It takes all this work to try to get a picture of the cousins all together.
I left Carlie's coat on because is was a windy, chilly day.
She looks more like a red cross nurse than a pilgrim.
Parents fixing the children
and fixing the children...
And adding the baby at the last minute
But he didn't like sitting there in the blanket
I don't know why Carlie folders her hands like this. We never told her to or
showed her how but she does it a lot when she's supposed to be sitting still
Ok finally we got it right
Her face is so funny. You can tell exactly what she's thinking
Donny slept through the picture and I wasn't about to wake
him just to take him out in the cold and get a picture.
Finally Daddy rescued her with putting her coat back on.
Mrs. Bradford in a hurry
They then tried to do an impromptu play.
Carlie was done by the time the play came and didn't want anything to do with it.
She sat on my lap and watched though
A late night volley ball game
Tim and Becca came out in the evening and Paul and Carlie played together for a bit.
Becca was bragging about her stroller so Carlie wanted to try it out.
Joel started a large bonfire
Becca and Paul
I had to take a few pictures of my other little pilgrim before I got him ready for bed.
Sleepy.
Home again just in time for bed
This weekend Steve and Emily came over and Steve wired the shed with John.
Emily and I caught up and Keiffer and Carlie had fun playing.
Carlie got to go shopping for supplies with Steve and John and was given her own apron.
work, work,
and more work
the sand pile is the greatest thing ever for Keiffer and Carlie
Finally! Light!
Thank you Steve! It's perfect!
Nate came over and helped put in windows.
The "angelic" Pilgrim.
This picture is supposed to be with the others like it
but some how it moved here to the end. I'm to lazy to put it back.
