Camping

Little Johnny Donny is so good at holding his head up I decided to try to see if he would be happy in the Johnny jumper. He loved it! It gives me a break too.

 Baby pictures

Becca gave up a blow up swim toy that she didn't want to take to Papua New Guinea and Carlie plays in it all the time.
I tried a little photo shoot with Baby John and these are my favorites

We had a few beautiful days last week where it was cool enough to open the windows.
It was even dry enough to hang laundry, which I really enjoy.

Another work day on the shed.

Saturday through Wednesday was Family camp at church.
Whoever wants to go out to Bear Lake and camp and we hold services about family issues.
Of course we take every chance to camp we can and were out there all week.
We shared a camp site with Tim, Becca, and Paul until Thursday, when they went home, and then we moved over to share a site with Dad and Mom.

The babies did great and slept well.

 Early morning camp fire.

Paul is always busy so most of his pictures are blurry.
He was a great camper and didn't worry about keeping clean.

Tim and Becca brought a wagon and Carlie and Paul really enjoyed taking rides in it...or just sitting in it...or climbing in and out. Paul tried to prove his advanced wagon skills by standing up in it as he road. Carlie scolded the whole way, "No, nonono!" pointing her finger at him. He ignored her and kept standing there so proudly.

Our camp site

Tim and Becca's tent.
Our tent was behind theirs and you can't see it, since it was smaller.

Carlie taking a walk with the wagon.

Pastor Woody found a little camp chair and gave it to Little John. Carlie had to try it out
but decided hers was better. She became very protective of her chair and didn't want anyone else sitting in it.  When we would move our chairs around to try to get out of the sun, she would move hers too, but no where in particular. She would drag it along sit down, stand up and move it again.

He looked so cute sitting in the big camp chair.

He fell asleep and slipped out under his pillow.

Carlie found the life jackets to the kayaks.

Supper at the pavilion

When the over children came around to see Little John, Carlie suddenly became very protective and didn't want them getting near him.

Lunch in the wagon.

Swimming at Krul Lake didn't last long since I was by myself with two over tired babies.

Krul Lake is about a mile from Bear Lake where we were camping. You aren't allowed to swimming in Bear because of alligators but you can swim in Krul so we go over there often when we are camping. Later in the week John and Carlie were swimming and a snake came swimming right at them, no more swimming in Florida! :-)

Since I had promised Carlie she could go swimming and she hardly got wet at Krul Lake I made her a "swimming tub" at our campsite she played in it for hours while I fed the baby and he napped.

Look how dirty Paul is!

Story time! Carlie always has time to read even out camping.

Grandpa decided it was time for Little John to start learning somethings. He taught him 1+2=3, how to spell S-p-e-l-l, f-i-s-h, G-r-a-n-d-m-a, and how George Washington crossed the Delaware, to be sure to get a history lesson too.

Our last night

Carlie got sick with a high fever and a rash. Dad and I went home to get her medicine.
She still has the rash, I think it's hand, foot, and mouth disease.
She's getting better with only a rash left. Little John doesn't have the rash so bad but started running fevers this weekend too.

Up early the last morning

John watched

pancakes, bacon, and eggs for breakfast

From there we went over to the heritage festival at Krul lake camp ground

They were running the water wheel to make corn meal and Carlie was fascinated

John is very interested in everything Carlie does now.

Carlie was feeling better. So thankful for a wonderful week and no accidents, I was worried about Carlie and the campfire but she seemed worried about it too.
